Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Arif Alvi and Imran Ismail Arrested by Police as they attempted to reach Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence.
Arif Alvi and Ismail trying to push through the police lines and at one point Dr. Alvi achieved to break through but was still by an officer.
The PTI leaders then decided to stage a protest along the road but both were placed under arrest by for violating Section-144 and were moved to an undisclosed location.
Fascinatingly both leaders were not taken in a police mobile but in fact were removed in a Hiace van.
Imran alleges workers being abducted
Speaking to journalists in Bani Gala, PTI chairman Imran Khan alleged that his party workers were being kidnapped and not arrested.
“I demand that the Supreme Court take suo moto notice. These are abductions and not arrests. They are robbing people of their democratic rights,” Khan said.
Police arrest PTI workers across Punjab
Police began crackdown against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers on Sunday and arrested workers coming to Islamabad for the protest on Nov 2.
According to sources, the arrests are being carried out under 16 MPO (Punjab Upkeep of Public Order Ordinance, 1960).
The choice was taken under a meeting chaired by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains, sources said.
